SAVE OUR ELMS Affiliates
2009 brought another new affiliate group to SAVE OUR ELMS. Now there are seven neighborhoods in Portland working with the City to maintain the health of our mature Urban Canopy. We're pleased to have the following active Affiliate groups: Ladd's Addition, Eastmoreland, Richmond School, Mt. Tabor, Grant Park, Laurelhurst and newly added SW Hills.
2009 is our eleventh year helping neighborhood groups begin and maintain elm protection programs. Our local groups have inoculated elms, planted trees, and assisted elm sanitation pruning. All of these actions are needed to protect Portland's elm legacy from the relentless attack of disease, age, and man-made stresses.
Dutch Elm Disease threatens American Elm groves throughout the City of Portland. Do you have a community group that wants to save elms, rather than watch them fall? To find out how you can form a local Affiliate, contact: Richard Ross, SAVE OUR ELMS Affiliates, 503-235-8194 email: affiliates@saveourelms.org .
